Stannard School Provider Access Statement
At Stannard School, we are committed to providing all pupils with meaningful opportunities to learn about a wide range of education, training and employment pathways. Although our pupils have complex SEND and follow highly personalised learning programmes, we ensure they are supported to explore appropriate next steps that reflect their aspirations, strengths and needs.
This Provider Access Statement sets out how external providers can request access to speak with pupils and how the school will manage such requests.
Aims
Stannard School aims to:
- Provide pupils with encounters with education, training and careers providers appropriate to their stage of development.
- Ensure pupils with SEND receive tailored guidance that links to their EHCP outcomes, interests, and long-term preparing-for-adulthood goals.
- Work collaboratively with external organisations to broaden pupils’ awareness of future possibilities.
Pupil Entitlement
All pupils at Stannard School are entitled to:
- Access information about a range of post-16 and, where relevant, post-18 pathways including supported internships, specialist colleges, vocational learning and employment preparation.
- Meaningful encounters with providers of approved technical education qualifications, apprenticeships (where appropriate), and specialist post-16 SEND providers.
- Impartial careers advice and guidance as part of their personalised curriculum and EHCP annual review process.
Given the needs of our cohort, encounters may be delivered through:
- Small group sessions
- Individual meetings
- Supported visits or workshops
- Virtual sessions where appropriate
- Careers-themed curriculum activities
